I don't know anything about the political and diplomatic philosophy of Somalilanders and their internal dynamics. So, I have no way of knowing what the global alignment of Somaliland republic will be but all I know is considering the critical strategic location of SLR, you will be playing actively in the regional geopolitical game. So, who will be close to SLR - Russia, US, China, UK, etc remains to be seen. One thing you must realize, these are the type of issues and challenges that come with being an independent nation.

The USA don't want to risk their valuable aircraft carrier because there is new threat of sea drones, If they can't defend their aircraft carriers. It means they can't defend our assets. So we will politely reject any thing involved striking Yemenis from our territory.

In contrast we are actually very interested dealing with the houthis. They can be the only source we can obtain modern advanced weapons. Without any paperwork. All mobile types of Iran weapons are available In The houthi controlled Yemen. Missles drones. You name it.
