This is indeed sad news.
This tragedy occured just yesterday. The victims were trying to cross to Yemen and sadly they drowned in the red sea. They boarded an old boat from Boshasha in Puntland, Somalia at early morning and they proceeded with their sailing until the tragedy occured.
My deeply heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and thanks to the yemeni farmers who performed respectful burial for them.

Yet not a single Somali website is talking about such a tragedy, including websites related to Puntland, as Bossaso, where the boat departed from, is in Puntland state!
In addition, Somalis erased that route (Bossaso --> Yemen --> Saudi Arabia) and Saudi Arabia itself from their map ages ago, as Somalis are no longer attracted to Saudi Arabia even if they were offered legal ways with visas etc. No Somali has lately been travelling to Saudi Arabia, except for the pilgrimage. In fact, many Somalis who lived legally in Saudi Arabia for decades have even cancelled their residence permit in SA voluntarily and returned to Somalia.
I wonder who this Aby lady is!

I don't blame ethios to risk their lives to run away from their godforsaken country. According to the report over 100 of the victims were women.
But why Somalis are fleeing their country? They are faring much better comparatively. I was shocked when I read so many somalis were among them.
It is mind-boggling.

You're absolutely right, it's very shocking when it comes to Somalis, particularly due to the fact that Somalis have lately not been attracted to Saudi Arabia even via legal channels.
I wonder how the IMO has identified them with such an accuracy, as these people do not have any documents whatsoever on them!

This is not in Somalia's media or News. I don't think any Somalis go to Yemen as it is not safe.
