"መገንጠል" or secession did not occur when we Eritreans defeated not one, but two world super powers and its aid-fed minions to right historical wrongs. We were never part of the Neo-colony that has been surviving on American aid since 1952, nor are we "enemies" of the Ethiopian people who have yet to break the yoke and bondage of Neo-colonialism that has kept them destitute, poor and hungry for over 70 years . If Ethiopians want to know who their enemy is, they need to look no further than their leaders who sell their mothers for one dollar.

We saw this coming while TPLF was still at war with OPDO. Some friends in this forum were so unhappy when we pointed out the oblivious about the inevitable betrayal that was soon to come, and took the man-child PM as a trusted fried of Eritrea. We Eritreans are not beating ourselves up for giving Abiy the benefit of the doubt by encouraging him to pursue an independent path to attain political and economic independence for Ethiopia, which could have transformed the country from a heavily-indebted aid-dependent poor nation to a self-sufficient economic powerhouse in Africa.

Although we understand that there were some missed opportunities, we are also cognizant of the fact that during the last 70 plus years the Neo-colonialists have stretched their tentacles deep into every segment of Ethiopian life that it is extremely unlikely, but not impossible, to break the yoke of modern slavery in that old crumbling country. Look, Mike Hammer is calling the shots because the Neo-colonialists don't trust Ethiopians to run their own shows, which raises the question as to whether the fate of the country is a foregone conclusion.

As far as we Eritreans are concerned, life goes on as usual. We don't have permanent friends or enemies, only interests.
