Shahi is a name of one ethnic in Eastern mountainous Tigray. Shahi is not an insult or anything but a name of ethnic who converted to Tigray ethnic. Shahi is one of three ethnics lived in Asimba.....Shahi, Gurage and Irob or Saho. Gurage left the region and resettle in the south greenland, reason their migration is economic hardship. The Shahi ethnic abandoning their culture and language and converted to Tigray ethnic is still unknown. The Irob or Saho ethnic still live there and kept their language too. Gurage kept everything their own, language and culture. The one thing resembles Shahi and Gurage is their trustworthiness and integrity and both do anything to get money.
