Accualy this is not that good news brother. Usa is literally colonizing our somali friends. Somalia don't need evil zionist israhell's slave usa opening more bases in their lands, remember usa was the one that destroyed Somalia and sent evil meles to destroy and kill innocent Somali ppl. It will be hard to kick these evil usa from Somalia. If you told me Turkey or Egypt or other friendly country opened a base in Somalia i would have been very happy, but evil zionist israhell's slave usa to ge more bases is no good brother.

The presence of the US army is Somalia is often exaggerated. And their mission is far from colonising Somalia.

They don't have their own military base and their number is 450 including high-ranking officers. Their high-ranking officers are not even based in Somalia but Djibouti, the Red Sea , and the Indian ocean.

They support Somali forces and the multinational African Union force with drone strikes, intelligence, and training. They particularly train Somali commandos army units. They don't have tanks and other heavy armoured weapons. And the units they trains operate under the command of the ministry of defence of Somalia.

I know AbyssiniaLady used exaggerate the American presence in Somalia, but the reality on the ground is completely different.

As for the five bases, I doubt Americans will build modern military bases. Time will tell.

The US is competing with the Turks, UAE and Egyptians. USA has huge military base in Lower Shebelle. They signed an MOU with Somalia so these bases will be huge. Turkey will also build more bases.

This base does not belong to the US but the Somali Ministry of defence. It used to be a air force base.

It's rather in competition with China in terms of influence in the region.

Apart from Israel and Egypt, the US military aid is quite limited elsewhere. The US is all about lip service and blah blah. This project might not even go ahead if Trump is elected.

If the US really wanted to build five modern military bases, involving large sums of money, the issue would have gone to the their congress and the latter would have rejected it outright.

I heavily doubt they would build anything close to the base built by Turkey, in Mogadishu, which is just a training base.
