That indeed is daydreaming. Ethiopia should have recognized first. Perhaps shoot for the deal a few years from now. The idea is for other countries to follow before any deal could be stricken.

This is another desperation tactic after Abiy was told to go fu’ck himself by Eritrean and went to try in Somaliland. I mean he is having problem with this venture like the Eritrean Red Sea and his testing yet another scheme in the name of the USA and the British.
If he was honest about recognizing Somaliland why not recognize it first before making it a precondition, like demand of owning a part of another country’s territory?
As I see it now, Somaliland is not a UN recognized nation and thus this venture is illegal by the UN charter.
So, expecting a recognition by the USA, the British and the UN and the rest of the world is going to take decades and then if that happens then Ethiopia can negotiate with the then sovereign nation of Somaliland. And once Somaliland is recognized I am 100% sure it will tell Ethiopia to go fu’ck itself just like Eritrea did.
There is no free lunch you know.
It is a sin to use one’s weakness or dilemma for self gratitude. And that is what Ethiopia is trying to do as we speak.
Deals are supposed to be made on equal footing and not one is in distress.

I think Abiy Ahmed received a tacit green light from them. The minimum they might required him probably to kick off the issue so that the call revibrates across the globe. Now, Somaliland took the spotlight. It is trending. The U.K. parliament is increasingly brining it to the agenda. This dancing around will come to be true and U.K. will recognize Somaliland. That means, the U.S. follows suit.

No chance whats so ever Britain carries the pen for Somalia and Somaliland affairs it wont recognise Somaliland i doubt that will ever happen thought they give aid to Somaliland and train some of their troops. But it wont recognise them i can assure u that ,They know they cant play that game besides they would never anger their former colony which is far more important then Somaliland , Egypt they wont backstabb egypt just for Somaliland. This is geopolitcs. The closer ever Somaliland got to recognition is that Ethiopia is willing to think about recognition no security council country is going to recognise Somaliland
