We often read and also hear all over the place that Somaliland was able to sign an agreement with DP World, and that since it was able to achieve this on its own without Somalia's interference, that it should be free to make a similar deal with Ethiopia or even with the devil, and that Somalia should not have anything to say about Somaliland's deal with clown Abiy.
This is what's called a fallacy or an error in logic.
A fallacy or an error in logic is the use of invalid or otherwise faulty reasoning in the construction of an argument that may appear to be well-reasoned if unnoticed.
In the above argument, an invalid and false reasoning was used in the construction of the argument - claiming that Somaliland was able to sign an agreement with DP World on its own without Somalia being involved.
But this is absolutely incorrect. It was the Somali government under the presidency of the current president, HSM, during his first term, who approved the proposal of Berbera Port project and had officially signed the agreement following consultations with the parliament. It was approved by the government to help Somaliland expand its sources of income.
In result, anyone uttering such an argument is completely wrong, because the information used in the reasoning is unfounded. Therefore, the argument becomes erroneous, as they say in computer programming, "Garbage in, garbage out."
This is a fact, it was official and not something secret only known to certain people.
