Amhara extremists and Ginbot seven opposed the construction of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, later they claimed that the dam was envisioned by Emperior Haileselssie and all credit must be given to him. Even Abiy tried to downgrade the role PM Meles played and is still trying to magnify his contribution over the last five years. The GERD should have been supported by any Ethiopian irrespective of our political differences and same is true for any effort to get access to the Red Sea.
