ኢትዮጵያ የ30 ሚሊዮን ተማሪዎች አገር ነች ፣ ከዚያም በላይ ይሆናል ። አውሮፓ ከጎሳ ማህበረ ሰብነት ወደ ዘመናዊ ሕዝብነት የተለወጡት መጀመሪያ በትምህርት ቀጥሎ በግለሰቦች የስራ ኢቶስ ወይም ካልቸር ነው ። ዛሬ ለ30 አመት በዎያኔ የላሸቀውና የወደቀው የኢትዮጵያ ትምህርት ጥራት እጦትን የሚያክል እስትራተጂክ ችግር የለብንም። ብርሃኑ ነጋ የሰማይ ስባሪ የሚያክ ኢትዮጵያን ትራንስፎርም የማድረግ ሃላፊነት ተቅብሎዋል ። አንድ አገር ኬ እስከ 12 ትምህርቱ ከወደቀ ከፍተኛ ትምህርቱ ቀልድ እና ውድቅ ነው የሚሆነው ። በአንድ ቃል የአንድ አገር እድገት የመጀመሪያ መለኪያ ህዝቧ ስንቱ በጥራት የተማረ ነው የሚለው ነው ። ኢትዮጵያዊያን ዘመናዊ ህዝብ የሚሆኑት በትምህርት ነው ። ያን ሃላፊነት ነው ብርሃኑ የተሸከመው ።

ይህ በእኔ ግምት ድንቅ የሆነ ያዲስ ፓርላማ የመጀምሪያ ቀን ነበር። በትንሹም ቢሆን ጠንካራ ክርክር ተደርጓል ። አንዳንዱ አዲስ የፓራላማ አባላት የአስተዳደር ሃ ሁ ያገኙበት ቀን ነበር ። አንዲት የነፋስ ስክልክ የተማሪ አማካሪ ባለሙያ እሷ ሕግ ሳትማር ሕግ አውጪ ሆና መቀመጧን ረስታ ብርህኑ ትምህርቱ ኢኮኖሚክስ ስለሆነ የት/ሚኒስትር ለመሆን ብቁ አይደለም አለች! ሰውዬው ፕሮፌሰር አስተማሪ መሆኑን ረስታ ። ይህን ያየው አቢይ ታዲያ እኔኮ የጠ/ሚኒስትር ትህምህርት አለነበረኝም አላትና እርፍ !

Ministry of Education deals with elementary and secondary education. In that type environment, you need people with pre-college school administration and psychology knowledge. Dr. Berhanu has been university level professor. His specialty is economics not Psychology or pre-college psychology. His specialty is finance, economics, etc... That is where he should be.

Stay in a territory that know. Don't expose yourself. I am a student psychology and an educator. There is no such a thing called pre-college psychology, duhh! School Administration or higher education administration is a branch of public administration and policy studies. K-12 and university administration such as being a school principal requires management skills. The kind of psychology we must master as educators is called the the psychology of learning and cognitive psychology. Yes, teachers and instructors need to know child development psychology, infant cognition psychology etc. We need pedagogic theory and teaching skills, class room management and working knowledge of learning styles of children which part of educational psychology. Berhanu is a professor don't forget. Now here is your total ignorance about the issue. To be a minister of education means that you are a national policy, educational and human resource policy leader. Your job is not teaching or administering a school ! Duh! Your job is formulating a national education philosophy, a national education strategy, leading a national curriculum development etc. He sets national academic standards and measures. So, dude, the job of Berhanu Nega is to guide the intellectual and literacy development of Ethiopia and coordinate or align the K-12 education with the labor and human resource needs of Ethiopia. The minster of education is one of the top and critical strategic leaders of the nation. ስለ ማታውቀው ነገር አትቀባጥር ! ዝም ያለ አፍ ዝምብ አይገባበትም !!! ኬር !!!

ግርም ሕጂ So you are a school teacher. Good for you. Now, Berhanu is not an administrator. He is a professor. Perhaps, he is good at Macro Economic Policies development. That perhaps is, his niche. That is a very critical area for a developing country. . A hundred million+ , third world population need people with specialties the helm. BTW, understanding child psychology is very important to any school and education administrator at any level. Ethiopia can not afford just a budget expert at the ministry of education. You must be a lowly old school teacher whose sphere of influence is at the school level.

Precisely. My guess is this was Berhanu's choice. I would have hated to see him sit all day inside that parliament chamber where there are no lawyers and no law makers, waiting for externally prepared draft to ratify with minimal input. I would have also felt bad seeing him in one of those uninteresting technical data filled econometric rooms as finance minister. Education is his passion, he loves research, ideas, strategic thinking and big ideas. I have read a lot the big idea books he has read such as why nations fail, how nations develop, why certain societies become modern and not others. It is a common knowledge now that the west was transformed from tribal society into modern industrialized world by means of literacy - education, education, education. I am really happy for him. He is now in a position to actually transform this generation where close to half of its population sit in some kind of classroom each and every day. ETHIOPIA NEEDS WORLD CLASS K-12 EDUCATION without which any respectable higher education is unimaginable!

Congratulations to Professor Berhanu Nega and the Ethiopian people.

There is no question his new office will have an uphill challenges ahead to undo all the evil ideas and wrongdoings implemented for 27 years long by the evil TPLF gangs. Sadly, most Ethiopians between the age of 5 and 35 have been infected by a virus called TPLF's division and hatred based on ethnicity.

I just wish him best of luck to successfully undo TPLF's evil fingerprints not only from the Ethiopian curriculum but also from the minds and heart of millions of young Ethiopians through his ministry of Education.
