When the TPLF authored their satanic manifesto in the Dedebit wilderness in 1976, the EPLF criticized them for exposing the Tigray people to unnecessary danger. And, in 1994, when the TPLF presented their satanic manifesto in the form of a "constitution", and imposed their draconian ethnic federalism arrangement on the Ethiopian people, again the EPLF warned them of the impending danger for Ethiopia as a nation, where a dog-eat-dog mentality will take root and every ethnic group will act as an "every man for himself", as opposed to fostering national identity. These seems to be what happened during transitional period right after TPLF took over Addis. If there is a good library near you try to get hold of the many EPRP papers and ESM (Ethiopian Student Movement) publications on 'the Eritrean Colonial Question and 'the national question ' in the rest of the country.
TPLF tried so hard to frame the Tigray national question in some form of colonial question to prepare Tigray for a separate statehood. It is based on that logic TPLF expelled EPRA from Tigray (Tigray as not being Ethiopia proper) and in fact the framing of Amara as the fundamental enemy of Tigray was a continuation of that ideology.
The same debate took place inside OLF. Since Oromo activist could not find a clean colonial case in Oromo, literally a friend of mine (Aboma Mitiku) coined the term 'Settler Colonialism' - the settler being Amara. So today OLF is guided by a settler colonial ideology, the colonizer being Amara.
Well, Eritrea asserted Italian colonialism to split and prior to 1990 EPLF also supported TPLF and OLF so that they would weaken Ethiopia, And that is exactly what happened. It is a total irony of history that it was Asmerom Legesse who did his thesis on Galla Geda Age Grade Tribal system in mid 1960s and in 2023 Oromos are preparing to invade Eritrea and remove the very EPLF from power!

After learning about Henry Kissinger's policy for Ethiopia that focuses on destabilizing the country by fomenting ethnic and religious conflicts, as well as Herman Cohen's comments in regards to his role midwifing the ethnic federalism arrangement in Ethiopia which the low IQ agame like to take credit for, I'm convinced that Ethiopia's woes are not of her own making, but of a well-orchestrated external scheme to keep the country in perpetual war with herself, as well as with her neighbors.
When John Foster Dulles forced the nation of Eritrea to become part of Ethiopia, I'm sure he knew that the greatest injustice ever committed against a sovereign state would culminate in Africa's bloodiest liberation war that would keep Ethiopia crippled by its addiction to foreign aid it desperately needed to keep fighting a war it could not win. When was the last time you saw a drug dealer helping the addicts to sober up? It doesn't happen.
