No question about that.

While we are used to talk more about the churches in Lalibela, there are several beautiful rock-hewn churches in Tigray that predate Lalibela. I was blown away by the intricate stone and wood carvings and frescoes when I saw the photos a few years ago. Sadly, thanks to mfkr Woyane rats & idiotic PP, the country has been dragged into mutiple wars and the significance of these religious and historical sites has been compromised. I hope to visit these mountainous church sites one day.

Agame boy
What history? Chigray has no history except for misery, famine and starvation. The only foreign visitors you will have is people like your daddy, uncle Bob Geldoff and foreign USAIDE workers

As I said before, the majority of the folks on this forum are idiots and haters. They lack critical thinking skills and thus only their political or ethnic affiliation provides them the emotional basis and comfort for their arguments. They always tend to lie to themselves by scribbling nonstop nonsense without any shame and self reflection.

Asmara is a UNESCO-certified city due to its Rationalist and Futurist Art-Deco and other beautiful Modernist style buildings. Likewise, Tigray is home to over 100 sacred rock-hewn churches some of which predate the famous Lalibela Churches. These are precious and timeless work of art and mark the heart of ancient Christian faith that the world always values and adores regardless of our internal political problems.

Why would you associate these historical heritages with Woyane or EPLF, who came into picture only three decades ago?

Here you go, a shallow SOB perceiving everything through a tribal political prism. If that was posted by a ferenji, you would obviously bow to the writer. Not appreciating Africa’s art and architecture narrated by Africans is called slave mentality. You are worse than a slave, my friend.

My comment was about you visiting Asmara. If you don't want to talk about how you went there, that is fine.

If you are interested in the art / mosaics in Enda Mariam Asmara, check out the painter's website. The artist is called Nenne Sanguineti Poggi. she was Italian. She has a lot of public artworks in asmara and Addis Ababa. She did the artwork in Estifanos Church and African Hall in Addis.

Why do you then label me before asking how I traveled to Asmara? And why does that even matter? Is everyone that visited Ende Mariam an Amiche? And in the same token, is everyone that visited Debre Damo half Tigrean? Why do you expect only Amharas or Ferenjis to visit the Fasiledes castles?

I love art, architecture, history & nature regardless of their locations & political milieu. I visited Rome, not because I am affiliated with Italy or have soft heart to Mussolini but because I was intrigued by human ingenuity that gave birth to the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Sistine Chapel, the Trevi, the Roman Forum, the Pieta, etc. Likewise, my love of Asmara & Tigray is not any different from my love of Addis, Gondar, Lalibela, Bahir Dar, Harar & others. My affection to the ordinary people of Eritrea, Tigray, Amhara, Oromo, and Gurage has also nothing to do with the messy & ugly tribalist political superstructure & irrational & immature discourse on this forum. Grow up!
