Here is why, in my view.
As part of the government body he had a great privilege, with great privilege comes also great responsibility. This is a basic principle.
If Taye knew already before he was sacked that the PM is a cruel (አረመኔ), who is trading with human blood, like Taye alleged, then Taye himself is a criminal, for not exposing this in time, before more damage would have been done. Taye should know about what he is talking about, failing to do so is his responsibility and he exposed the nation to further danger.
I as a layman can say Abiy is a cruel but not a government official, without a reason.
Taye should clear his name in the court of justice.
One thing I can raise here is that Taye has already also called for a "transitional government" which is a trade mark of those trading in the suffering of the Ethiopian people.
Why is Taye sitting in the current government and calling for the creation of a transitional government at the same time?
Seyoum should have an answer to this simple question, before trying to claim things are baked to criminalize him by the law-enforcement body.
Don't add an insult to a sustained injury. Taye has the option to defend himself and clear his name.
Else he should face the required punishment for exposing the national security of the nation to an elevated danger.
