Re: The philosophy of MEDEMER explained by the horse's mouth
In normal circumstances, it could have worked to simply explain the pros and cons of a decision that has been made. But unfortunately, this does not work with some who have severe intellectual disabilities or other disabilities such as autism, etc.
This is why you are in the situation you are in. And you have had a very negative impact on all of your neighboring areas because of that.
Otherwise, Eritrea took a very mature decision that had far-sighted and long-term benefits not only for Eritrea but most of all for Ethiopia.
The short term was that it gave Eritrea free rein against the TPLF in case the latter decides to make the stupid decisions it is known to make. And this can only happen if the Ethiopian government stands behind it.
And the long-term benefits were, firstly, Ethiopia would not have to pay the huge costs that the country had to pay for port services in Djibouti. Which could mean that the country could afford to pay the debts to the IMF and other bloodsucker banks, etc. Free movement of people and goods between the countries was supposed to help the economy of both countries to develop and strengthen the common protection against external enemies, was the plan of our expectations.
But that did not happen. The ethnic based thinking that the TPLF syringe has injected is working to the full in the power holders of today's Ethiopia. And results are what we see today.
But regardless of expectations, our involvement in the issue has been successful and will continue to benefit Eritrea and the Eritrean people. It might be of obvious reasons difficult for the TPLF supporters to understand what I mean by that but who cares.
