He never thought that the Amharas would react this way...he thought he could intimidate them to submission and disarm them. On the contrary, he opened a can of worms and now he is on downward spiral!
That is a correct assessment. Abiy never expected Amhara will fight back. He thought he could handle Amhara through Beaden the same way TPLF was handling. Little did he know that much of the lower zonal BEADEN are tired of OPDO ተረኝነት and would collaborate with Fano
He miscalculated big time...now his demise is a matter of time.

while his demise might be inevitable, my question to him is where is his honesty to betray the people and government who have stood with him during his hours of need? Do Ethiopian leaders have any honesty at all? I think not.

Brother J
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with your input regarding the current situation. It seems that you are not fully understanding the gravity of the matter at hand. We are discussing the leader of our neighboring nation threatening to violate our territorial integrity. This is a serious issue that requires immediate attention and action. It is imperative that Eritrea collaborates with any force necessary to prevent any loss of life among our people.

Furthermore, I am concerned about your recent behavior. It appears that you may have a personal issue or grievance with PIA. While I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and feelings, it is important to remain objective and focused on the matter at hand. If you have any personal issues with the him, it would be best to keep them private or address them in a separate forum.
Bro Fed_Up, believe me it pains me a lot to cause any discomfort to my brothers and sisters, but we need to say what needs to be said. While keeping a watchful eye, we need to avoid getting entangled in Ethiopian internal affairs. No matter who comes to power there, we will have an adversary as long as they continue to harbour ambitions on our ports. It is true, I disagree a lot with what Isaias has been doing and saying in the past 5-6 years. I disagree with his ambition of unifying the HoA or inserting Eritrea in the discussion in global conflicts. I was hoping he would focus on social, political and economic development and border demarcation and less on world affairs, but we have not been lucky so far. We need him to succeed for the sake of Eritrea, but he now needs to include a wider circle of Eritrean officials in the decision making process. Our relationship with Ethiopia is extremely sensitive, it requires wider discussion on which course to take.

what are you gonna do when abiy and his aidthiopian army crosses the border one night and invades eritrea?

are you gonna still be "neutral" about ethio affairs and keep blabbering about isaias as ethiopian army invades and tries to annex eritrea thus crossing the red lines while you still try to be lawful with the lawless southerners?

I wonder why you refuse to see the fallacy of your position that what is happening is Ethiopian internal affairs. How can that be when the leader of Ethiopia has categorically declared that he will take the Red Sea by force if necessary. It is the most blatant declaration made after Hitler declared in 1938 that Austria was his for the taking and Saddam invaded Kuwait in 1990. No sir, what is happening south of our border is not Ethiopia's internal affairs. Remember that we crossed into Tigray when the Agames lobbed missiles into Eritrea because we had to respond and defeat the naked aggression. Similarly, Abiy has declared war on Eritrea and Eritrea needs to do whatever it takes to get rid of that threat! If he is making noises now while deeply mired in war, what do you think he will do if he defeats Fano? Is there any doubt that he would try to achieve his grandiose ambitions. It would be a major dereliction of duty if the Eritrean government and people were to watch events unfold from the sidelines. ኢድካ ኣጣሚርካ ምርኣይ ሳዕቤኑ ክግመት ውን ኣይከኣልን።

Never seen in the annals of history that a leader squander a political capital showered on him by the people of Ethiopia! The absurd thing is he sacrificed everything so he can have alliance with dying TPLF! He dropped the ball big time!!

Getachew is checkmating Abiy by blaming him for not keeping Pretoria Agreement and advises Abiy to use peaceful methods to resolve disputes not a war solution

Getachew also says Tigray will not participate in a future war with Eritrea (it has yet to recover from this war) This means Tigray will take maybe 5 to 10 years to recover from this war

What is so different now, compared to the outright woyane aggression of 2001-2018. Eritrea waited patiently while keeping a watchful eye, even when it was provoked by military aggression (2012), and the patience paid off in the end.

Aby's redsea threat was designed to lure the Amharas for a" bigger cause" and abandon fano. However, that move failed flat on its face! The Amaharas are pressing on regime change and totally ignored his call for the country to rally behind him in dream to forcefully capture Asab. Now Aby has to leave upto his threats and do something against Eritrea but he lacks the economic capacity and public support to open another war theater! And on the contrary, Eritrea took his threats seriously is not only making all-around war preparation to defend itself but also is redoubling its support to Amahara movement and its significant support is already showing signs of that fano is there to do job, i.e, March to Arat kilo and eradicate Aby and his half baked Ormo elites. A leadership that within has an amhara sentiments of national feeling of unity and harmony!

Aby is dangerous because of his prosperity gospel indoctrination, he is put reality and wallowing in lala land called Medemer = synergy. He thinks he is doing a favor to Eritreans by taking them out of the current " quagmire" they are in...he thinks he is a messiah sent to save east africa. Leaders with that psychic are dangerous and could cause a lot of damage and they usually end up being disposed in a very sad way..
