It was hard to listen to today’s PM speech in parliament

Two issues I listened struggling:

1. The war in Amhara region
It’s now official that what the government started as a quick disarmament operation 7 months ago has now grown into a threat to the federal government. The issue of disarmament and restoring law and order aka ህግ ማስከበር is completely missing in Abiy’s speech. Instead, he talked about whether Fano can overthrow the central government or not. It’s interesting to see how the narrative of the government completely changed in just 7 months and the PM is now not talking whether ENDF can disarm Fano but whether Fano will be able to overthrow the government or not. How times have changed so quickly!

2. Red Sea
His speech on Red Sea yet again sends a very bad signal to our neighbors and even threatening them with unknown consequences if they refuse to accept his demands. He is hurting Ethiopia‘s long term interests and the good relations and trust we had with our neighbors. Today’s speech displayed yet again that he lacks the capacity of strategic thinking and diplomatic skills. How on earth this guy thinks another country will just give him its own land because he threatened the country is beyond me. In fact, I’m worried he may be achieving the opposite and even Djibouti may try to reduce its relations with Ethiopia.

The guy is an absolute amateur in politics, economics, diplomacy and many more fields and poses a great danger to our country!

For those who don’t know the origins of his obsession with the Red Sea watch the following clip. It all started with a so-called prophet and his absurd prophecy that Abiy will unite Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia into Ethiopia. Any sane person would laugh at such insanity but it seems Abiy has taken this fake prophecy seriously.

If it's true that he has aired again his claim for a seaport on the Red Sea today, then its seems true that the UAE is behind him; thus, Eritrea has to get ready.
