I believe Abiy is working on Eritrea’s behalf.

1. He retracted his empty threat and admitted that he respects all its neighbors territorial integrities which sounds like he did that to shut the freaking dreamers Ethiopians ones for all.

2. He also talked about the 3 Afaras who live in three different countries and want to play his hand in their names.
Now Abiy was talking about Ethiopia’s explosion of population and that is why he said he needs to own his own port which he or Ethiopia never had, never will ever have.
Now if his excuses is the number of population then how the hell does he believe his Afars choose to be with Ethiopia when they could chose to be either with the Djiboutian Afars or Eritrea’s Afars (where there are o population problem like in Ethiopia) bringing their tiny territories to either or both countries and hence they don’t have to worry about Ethiopia’s population explosion like Abiy is worried?
Why would the Ethiopian Afars work with the population explosion of Ethiopia and be a vehicle of access to the sea in the name of 110 million Ethiopians and be very minority size of Ethiopia then after when they can easing get access to the sea by doing referendum of separating from Ethiopia and join Eritrea or Djibouti?
Eritrea has hundreds of cards to play with and the Ethiopian leaders need not push it to play it for our policy is that we don’t want what is not ours and we will not give what is ours.
But if this stupi games don’t stop, Eritrea can play the same game and will come out smelling like freshly cut roses.
In other words, Ethiopia needs to stop making (force) us, like we are after what is not ours.
But yes we can do it overnight if we are not respected.
The other cards? Use your heads and figure them out.
Respect Eritrea just like so far it Eritrea respects Ethiopia except its leaders.
So if you digest things it looks like Abiy is working on Eritrea behalf. He sounds like he is putting the final nail on the empty dreamers coffins.
