Suddenly, why is Abbiy preoccupied by Eritrean ports

Post by Dark Energy » 25 Oct 2023, 09:23

Simple. Opportunity presented itself.
Here is why. As we know Djibouti entertains three powerful nations. Djibouti has modern amenities and infrastructures money can buy. Hence, poor Ethiopia has to spend over a billion dollars annually for port expenses. A billion dollars is a big chunk for a third world country. Somali land hosts the Emirates and Somalia entertains the Turkish. Eritrean ports are undeveloped, practically unusable ports. Ably knows that Eritrean ports are not supposed to be neglected. As a candidate for paying customer, he expects a workable port. He knows, the Eritrean government does not have what it takes to develop the port. Abbiy wants to invest as an excuse thereby he can get some kind of ownership indirectly. He can not complain to UN international courts, since he can do business through Djibouti, Somali Land or Somalia, as a paying customer off course. It begs the question, why isn’t the Eritrean government allowed the deterioration of Eritrean maritime borders the last thirty years. What is Isayas trying to get out of the God given coastal lines ? Are Isayas and Abbiy still communicating after hours ? 8)
