  APCO Worldwide has inked an open-ended contract to provide strategic communications and media relations services to Ethiopia, Africa’s second most populous country with 121M people, which has been ravaged by war and drought.
  
  Ethiopia was the site of the world’s bloodiest war last year, according to Comfort Ero, head of the Crisis Group.
  
  An estimated 600K died in Ethiopia’s Tigray region between 2020 and 2022 as the government battled the Tigray People’s Liberation Front. Nigeria brokered a deal between the two parties on Nov. 2.
  
  Ethiopia also is battling a long-term drought that puts 28M of its people at risk.
  
  The International Rescue Committee ranks Ethiopia as the country, after Somalia, most at risk of a worsening humanitarian crisis in 2023.
  
  APCO’s job is to further the Government of Ethiopia’s commitments to its citizens and international partners "to build a just, prosperous and stable nation,” according to its contract inked on July 27.
  
  The DC firm also will promote Ethiopia as a destination for foreign direct investment.
  
  It will receive a monthly fee of $158,537 under the agreement that “shall continue indefinitely.”
  
  Margery Kraus, APCO founder & executive chairman, and Seleshi Bekele Awulachew, Ethiopia’s US ambassador, signed the master engagement agreement.
  
  APCO has a seven-member team assigned to the Ethiopia account.

Stop smoking and sniffing too much so that the imaginary genocide may not come to torture you. As for the peace loving Peace noble gold medal winner PM he has the right to hire and fire!

A lot people think that APCO's focus for Abiy is securing financing sources for the dollar starved ethno-fascist regime. My guess is APCO's assignment is going to be helping Abiy get out of the terminal crises he is in. That is APCO is known for -crisis management.

As I said elsewhere on this forum APCO will at least the following among other things
(1) APCO will attempt to brand Fano as An Amara Orthodox One Ethiopia hegemony seeking movement, design a PR and Media strategy for the loser Oromuma
(2) APCO will attempt to Brand Abiy Ahmed as Pro-Ethiopian, smart, progressive and forward looking young African leader. (APCO is known for image and media branding for troubled dictators. And, APCO will design PR and Media campaign to that effect. APCO is essentially a communication strategy consulting outfit.
(3) And, probably some financing and promotion works globally.
It is that UAE is part owner of APCO through recently APCO acquired Dubai consulting firm. In other words, Sheik Bin Zeid might have given his adopted brother Abiy Ahmed a free ride on the princes account. As we all know UAE is a major client of APCO.

So, what Ethiopians, (Fano) must do is stage its own concentrated media and PR campaign to expose the unholy marriage of the Oromuma ethno-fascist regime and the Arab colonial financed APCO ' service. We must go straight the image of APCO itself.
