The following are the strategic advantages of incorporating the strip of land between Assab and Adulis!
1- Integrates the historic port of Axum with Ethiopia/Tigray
2- Integrates the Akele Guzay with Tigray . The Akele Guzay people have been longing to be part of Tigray. That will also weaken Eritrea and make it dependent on Ethiopia with nullified threat.
3- Integrates the Afar people . The Afar people in Eritrea have been marginalized & suffering in the hand of Isaias
4- Huge potash deposits will be controlled by Ethiopia
5. The strip of offshore land between Assab and Adulis could be developed to the biggest tourism hub and e-commerce hub in Africa in synergy to Ethiopian Airlines.
6. It avoids security risk related to only depending one one small city as Acess to the Red Sea.
It is expected that Abiy and TPLF will agree on the above strategic advantages and work together to that effect.

Abby does not have the desire nor the capability to do that. Second, international law prohibits it. Third, you can’t pick and choose to claim parts of lands owned by a sovereign entity.
