Local media in the Ethiopian region of Amhara has reported that an Ethiopian army drone has bombed protesters, killing at least 70 people.
Air strikes reportedly hit the demonstrators, who'd gathered in the town of Finote Selam in protest against plans by federal forces to enter the area.
The BBC has not been able to verify the claims and there's been no comment yet from the government in Addis Ababa.
The army and a militia group, called Fano, have been involved in heavy clashes across the Amhara region in recent weeks.
The militia had refused to disarm, prompting the federal government to deploy the army.

Re: Breaking news abiye Ahmed is stepping up the game bombardments start in Amhara region
I always thought that abiye Ahmed Ali would turn into an Amhara lackey as most gallas do. Or they are kept under the thumb of Amhara . My oo my how did he surprise me and the rest of Ethiopia . That he indeed is not like those gallas in the history that were subdued owned in all but name as Amhara properties .
I think for the first time in history an Amhara will answer to a galla and this will bring some sort of challenge to the clever by half Amhara not sure how they will deal with this .
He can also count on the support of the tigrayan since the tigrayans hate the Amhara more then any one else which geographically important if one wants to contain the amhara and keep them surrounded from all angles also this will be some breathing position for the tigrayans since they endured the most war the past few years and they will try to inflict as much pain and damage on the clever by half Amharas
I think us in the Somali region will remain neutral though we don’t like Amharas we also don’t like the galllas since we have border conflicts with them I am not sure what the sidame and afar postion is but most likely neautral if u ask me .

Wow, it is outside of the Ethiopian Federal Forces area of jurisdiction, so the protesters have to deny any entry to their area (of Amharania, outside of Ethiopia).Zack wrote: ↑14 Aug 2023, 07:03Ethiopia air strike kills dozens of protesters - reports

What a lame excuse.
The federal forces have to be stationed outside of Ethiopia, perhaps on another planet..
All signs indicate to the necessity of the step of removing the third obstacle to a progress in our country as recently stipulated by OPFist of this forum.
