I agree, but the question is: if the country is broke and has no way to get the money needed to sustain the country; then what?
Can poor people be proud to the point they refuse aid that they need to exist? Ethiopia has always been this way, since the times of menelik bro, they were raiding neighbors for food and depending on european powers for firearms and aid. It cannot be like Eritrea, who at least only has 5-6 million people to feed, but Ethiopia which has massive debt, was looted by the previous govt of billions of dollars, etc, cannot do the same unfortunately.
even when abiy goes, since no govt lasts forever, the next govt will be depending on the west too (amara elites/oromo elites/tigrayan elites/} that you see today, would love to be their puppet as long as their group is the one in power within ethiopia); or the west will make sure it arms other groups to keep it destabilized.

Someone has to break the cycle, brother Sedacha. I believe with the type of support and popularity doctor Abiy possessed, he could have been the best candidate. That was the reason and hope Ethiopians and the entire Horn of Africa nations were embraced to his ascending to power.
