Answering the audience's question as to why the TPLF didn't get the support of Ethiopian ethnic-based political parties, Getachew Reda said,

"... before we carried out the premeditated military attack on the sleeping Ethiopian Northern command forces in Tigray, we tried to get various Ethiopian ethnic-based political parties, big and small, on our side, but they all demanded that we pay them up to $128 million dollars to be our ally, and that is because these groups knew that the TPLF was a 27-year-old thief that has stolen billions and billions of dollars, and they wanted a piece of that money."
