President Isaias Afwerki visited Patriots Park and Army Expo

Asmara, 01 June 2023 – President Isaias Afwerki and his delegation visited, in the afternoon hours of today, the Patriots Park and Army Expo that are located 51 km in the environs of Moscow.



The Patriots Park is in commemoration of the sacrifice and martyrdom that the Soviet Army paid, during the 1 thousand 418 days of war against the Nazis during the Second World War.



The Army Expo also displays the historical evolution of the Russian Army, from the Soviet era to the modern day Russian Federation.

Some scenes from the trenches at Nakfa, the main base of the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front during their liberation struggle. There are an estimated 180km of trenches & 1500 underground houses at the base.



You’re looking at drums preparing and storing natural fertilizers produced from seaweed and fish byproducts at the Abdur processing plant in Massawa, Eritrea. They produce 40,000 liters a month for farmers, producing a range of crops.


Plant employees told me the goal is to ramp up production to roughly 500,000 liters a month over the next 2-3 years, with the goal of replacing all chemical fertilizers in the horticultural sector.

Researchers told me this sustainable fertilizer has increased yields in test crops, including a 28% increase in potatoes, 17% increase in chilies, and 20cm increase in the size of various flowers.
