Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali explains why he did not wish Eritreans a joyful "Independence Day"

Due to the fact that three-quarters of Eritrea's population resides in Ethiopia, I decided to organize a celebration in Addis Ababa. As the vast majority of Eritreans who fled the country now reside in Ethiopia, it would be inappropriate for me to wish them a joyful independence day.
