IMF says Ethiopia program would require creditor assurances
Reuters
NEW YORK, May 11 (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund is in discussions with Ethiopian authorities, and any new program would require creditors' financial assurances, a spokeswoman for the global lender said on Thursday.
The IMF "welcomed" the progress toward restoring lasting peace in the East African country as well as the authorities' "homegrown economic reform agenda," spokeswoman Julie Kozack said in a press conference.

Re: IMF RE: $2B dollar loan application from Ethiopia
Can anyone tell me why Ethiopia needs a multi-billion dollar office for the prime-minister? Isn't the current office adequate enough?

Ethiopia doesn't need this palace. Abiy Ahimed's supersized ego does.
Ethiopia needs to feed its citizens, house the displaced, stop the demolition of houses the poor built under corrupt regimes, stop waging war by Abiy Ahimed's OLF on women, children and the elderly etc

Ethiopia being the center of world leader gatherings, it is fair to build good standard secure well equipped modern state house not only for the current PM but also for the many coming Prime Ministers and Presidents down the line. Ato Revelastion is jealous like Judas and suffering from hallucination and that is why he often takes such issues as his prime issues so that his inferiority complex may get beefed for a minute.

Are you not tired of endless barking and ranting for nothing?
May I ask you if the corrupt people built illegal houses on lands earned by illegal land grabbing away from the eyes of the democratically elected good good government who is now being forced to reclaim from the land grabbers and black market illegal traders. As your nick name also clearly indicates you only revealed your pathological lies in order to make politics out of the situation.![]()

This is one of silliest replies I have read. The USA hosts the UN in New York where leaders of the whole world congregate at least once a year. By your logic, the USA should have built a palace 10 times bigger than the one Abiy is contemplating, Addis has many first class hotels to accommodate any of the African leader who come there and I would have supposed Haile Sellaises palace would be good enough for any leader.
