  • Horn of Africa !!!!
Eritrea !!!

Somalia !!!

I wonder who is the (original) creator of the rhythm and beats upon which these two songs and based!

Somalis and Eritreans understand each other without even using words. That is at least my experience.

Eritrea is the originating of musical instruments and amazing songs when all the African countries including Ethiopia were beating their chests as musical instruments jumping from tree branches to the next one.

This Girmay’s song was of the early 1950’s which was even later than other Eritreans of the 40s.

Eritreans brought their musical instruments to Ethiopia when Sellassie encroached to Eritrea illegally many and systematically forced to relocate them to Addis and exposed them to modern music and all other endeavors including football, cycling and of course the many talents of all civilization including garages, recreation centers, heavy equipment operators, airline industry etc etc so the Ethiopians can be exposed.

And that fact that the Eritreans were loved by the then Ethiopians became the starting of jealousy the funfunat aliet tegarus so much so the evil woyanes expelled the Eritreans from Ethiopia to force the Ethiopians to be the replacement of the Eritreans and be loved which made them pay for their evil by Shaebia to be turned to the Stone Age.

Facts matter. So the nowadays Ethiopians don’t know these facts and need to recognize or ask their elderly to get the facts.

NB:

This video and everything thing I usually say is not to degrade the genuine Ethiopians.

I just want to tell the facts. Loving Ethiopians doesn’t mean I don’t have to explain the facts and the genuine Ethiopians should not feel like I am trying to create friction.

It is just a fact and it needs to be accepted by the genuine Ethiopians.

Majority of you are young. I witnessed what I am saying in my own eyes and I was even one myself who was forced to go to Ethiopia not necessarily because Ethiopia wanted me to study, but to uproot me from Eritrea and contribute to the Ethiopian society with my relents which was not in Ethiopia during that time.

To be one of the Ethio national football team from the then 70 million Ethiopians and being an Eritrean from the then 3 million population just tells the truth.

Facts matter.

Genuine Ethiopians know very well that Eritreans played a big role in the development of the modern music in Ethiopia . One of them was a gentleman from Keren who spent his last days in America. May Allah have mercy on his soul.

Eritrea has always been a centre of religion and cultural exchange. Remember Ezana was baptised in Debre-Sina, Eritrea. If you talk about early Islam you can not pass without mentioning Eritrea and BaHre-Negasi.

Cigar (un grande giocatore ) has every right to be proud of his cultural heritage and history.

I play guitar and kirar. One day I hope to try ዑድ/ oud. Girmay Solomon is indeed a legend. His art is part of my music collection.

I think Eritreans should diversify their music and adopt it to Eritrea's diverse ethnics, rather than sticking to the Habesha music, which is too monotonic, depressing, and hell boring at least to me.

I think playing some guitar based Somali songs could be a better way to improve your guitar and oud skills.
