If that is the case why are they allowed to represent the Amhara people in different adminstrative positions including that of deputy prime minister ?

Well, they got elected because BADN uses different pressure tactics, such as farmers who are voting for BADN will get fertilizers while those who BADN does not favor are left out. For a farmer whose life depends on agriculture, he rather votes for BADN and wins his bread rather than starve the following season. In addition, there is a direct threat to the farmers if they don't vote. For most elected officials their life depends on being hired by the party so they will do anything to keep their position. By the way, it is not only in Amhara but all over Ethiopia . The difference is that BADEN acts like an appendix.
