Contributions to Christianity

Post by Noble Amhara » 09 Feb 2023, 11:41

Tigray have very small contributions to Christianity in Ethiopia. In fact without Amhara involvement Christianity would be less then 10% in Ethiopia. Just imagine Amhara became Muslim the rest of ethiopia would become Muslim! Simple as that! Amhara Orthodpx had major contribution in the christianization of Gondar, Shewa, Gojjam, Arsi, Southern Ethiopia and across the country and stopping Islam from completely taking over Ethiopia! During Amdetsions churches were being built in Arba Minch! In fact the Protestants were allowed to come to ethiopia by Amhara Orthodox approval to establish schools and hospitals in areas where islam didn't reach! As such the Ethiopian Evangelical has large amhara influence as seen in its countless Amharic Mezmurs! Without Amhara involvement Islam was going to rule all the pagans! Anyways Tigrays contribution to Orthodoxy is in its pride! as seen by hawdain..Even the 2 Axum marjam tsion churches were built by amharas (fasilades) (ras teferi)

You better do more researches :

- Christianity was expanded from North to South ( Acts 8: 26-40)
- Grange Ahmed succeeded to Islamize most of the Amhara region until he was defeated by a joint Tigray and 400 Portuguese army
- Tigrayan men of God like Yard played a key role and a life time impact on the Chruch

- The Amhara people & governments also played a major role in defending and expanding the Orthodox religion.

Ahmed Gragn was killed somewhere near Gojjam. But here is my question for you....

Now you coming to lie and say "Tigray armyy" nooo first of all Ahmed Gragn was armed with muskeeteers and cannons from Turk and Arab Empires that supported him.... so We invited Portugal with invitation of Medri bhari king Yeshaq to make it even! the Holy Portuguese Muskeeters Killed Ahmed Gragn and thus his army dispersed Abysinia!

After AHmed gragn invaded Shewa... how come the Shewan didnt convert to ahmed gragns islam? do you know why?

absolutly not! you only are a northerner/ tigrian you dont know us!

Teklehaymanot came to Shewa but there was already Christian presence in Shewa as such in 1127 (Prior to Teklehaymanot) there was already a Christian Population in Shewa that was in conflict with the Werje Sultanate

Not only Orthodoxy but also Protestantism flourished in Southern and Western Ethiopia with the approval of Haile Selassie... The Orthodox Church allowed the gospel to reach southern ethiopia and allowed missionaries to translate the bible to all languages in Ethiopia. This now has formed a core in the south and west {Pente} this core is useful right now to stop the dominance of the political-religious oromia synod

Better read about Ethiopian history . Bahere Negash Yisak ( a Tigrayan) participated in the war under the leadership of Queen Eleni ( a Tigrayan Queen who was the mother of the then King of Ethiopia).

Yeshaq (Bahr Negus) (a Eritrean) likely from Kebessa Hamasien or Semhar (Debarwa)
