It's written by Shlomo Sand, who is an Israeli Emeritus Professor of History at Tel Aviv University. He debunks the myth that there was a forced Jewish exile in the first century at the hands of the Romans and the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 CE.
He argues that most modern Jews descend from converts, whose native lands were scattered across the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
