የአበራን ቅኔ ማንም ተራ ሰው ሊፈታው አይችልም። But I like him as an artists & humanist. Unlike other bootl!ckers & chatterboxes, he was at least doing something positive to the everyday citizens in the city even during woyane. I also like that he values his culture and traditions.

With regards to Adanech, I have been critical of her in the past and for some reason I don’t like her. She looks goofy and sounds fake. She also disgusts me how she disrespects the Ethiopian flag and suppresses opposition voices in the city. She functions as a politician, not a city manager. Having said that, who am I to criticize? I am not residing in Addis.

Disagreeing or agreeing with what a politician does is one of the major pillars of a democracy and it is your God given right and also responsibility as a citizen to do so. What is perhaps not right and also irresponsible is criticizing someone for the wrong reason and personal character assassinations of some actors on the ground based on who they are.

The guy keeps bad-mouthing about Adenach Abebe or other politicians for the simple reason that they are Oromo, in his view Oromo shouldn't be allowed to be a mayor or a PM, everybody else needs to sing to the tunes of his own to be called an Ethiopian. A perfect example of a narrow nationalism, which shouldn't have a place in the Mosaic of cultures and peoples.

Ethiopians have said they will embrace all and all are part of the family of the greate Mosaic, the narrow nationalists are on the fringe of the wider spectrum. That is why he is so desperate.

I don't know where and how she disrespects the Ethiopian flag, and which Ethiopian flag you are talking about.

In all of the public gatherings and ceremonies I see her and the wider public decorated by the Ethiopian flag and that flag is one and the same, which is stipulated and given due recognition in the country's legal system. Adenach Abebe and her administration are not part of the legislation but part of the executives and as such are duty bound to uphold the rule of law and needs to abide themselves by the law.

In case you have an issue with the flag in question, then Adenach Abebe is not the right person to address your dissatisfication with it, you should direct your case to the law-makers of the country to be addressed there.

Blaming Adanech for executing her duty for which she is there, is what I called accusing someone for the wrong reason, that should be inadmissible.

Pulling the ethnic card makes you look like a typical weak and dumb nationalist. There were previously Oromo mayors & high ranked government officials that I liked. There are Amhara politicians that I never liked, such as, Eskinder Nega. There were Gurage pvssy politicians that were sniffing Meles Zenawi’s bottom.

Yes, I don’t like Adanech as a person & a mayor. That’s my personal opinion. She looks so fake when she mourns celebrity deaths and pretend to venerate all religious and cultural events while she did nothing when Addis residents were uprooted from their homes and massacred in their churches compounds by Oromo hooligans. I don’t like how her police made Eskinder Nega’s life like hell, preventing him to have public gatherings and political conversations. I don’t like how her police mistreated Addis residents who carried the Ethiopian flag that they love while she allows OLF banner flown all over the city. Don’t tell me that’s not her responsibility. She is the mayor of the city & the police commissioner is hired by her.

Having said that, it’s up to Addis residents to keep her in office or kick her out. My opinion doesn’t mean anything, and neither yours.

Let me say I am dumb, just because I told you not to oppose someone based on who he/she is, what about you then who label accusations against someone but then fail to substantiate your own case. That is the true meaning of a dumb.

Someone has violated the law in another case, so as a consequence that someone should also violate the law in my case and consider it legal, is what you mean in such a claim. That is a lame reasoning, which you shouldn't have failed to understand but wanted to use it as a cover to vent your detests against someone for some other reason. The motive that you’re trying to construct is made up in your mind, not based on my outlook. If it were about her Oromo identity, I would have put Abiy in the same basket and Ethiopians of all walk of life wouldn’t have applauded Obbo Lemma Megersa. So, drop that nonsense! Selam doesn’t have a grain of ethnic mindset. I am just Ethiopian in & out.

Personality is one of the essential criteria of successful public figures. Without genuine empathy and inherent sentiment, they will score a low likability. You can’t convince someone to like her if there is nothing to like about her.

Again, I am not a fan of Eskinder Nega but the way he was harassed is unforgivable. While the Oromo thugs were turning the city upside down, he was prevented from having simple press briefings.

Until the last Irreecha festival, OLF flags were flying high all over the place while ordinary citizens were not even allowed to wear a green-yellow-red shirt and such a flag was stripped down from church walls.
