Breaking from Pretoria:The TPLF agrees to disarm after the 2-year bloody war it initiated!
A thread on today’s outcome of talks between the Federal Government of Ethiopia (GoE) and the TPLF!
The two-year-long costly Northern Conflict in Etiopia is set to come to an end today, November 2, 2022, with the conclusion of 8 consecutive days of negotiation which asserts the territorial sovereignty, territorial integrity, and lasting peace for the nation- according to inside sources familiar with the process.
It is reported that the dialogue has successfully concluded with an outcome that respects the national interest in a manner that does not permit foreign interference.
According to the agreement, the key agenda issues are follows:
1. The TPLF agrees to completely disarm. According to the agreement, within thirty days from today (November 2), the TPLF will completely disarm.
To implement this decision, the top military leaders of the two sides will hold a joint press briefing, at a convenient place within 24 hours.
2. Within five days of the signing of the agreement, the military leaders of the two parties will jointly draw up a detailed process of disarmament phases and start the implementation work;
3. Within ten days of the meeting of the senior military officers of the two parties, the TPLF will hand over all heavy weaponry to the National Defense Forces;
4. Within seven days of the signing of this agreement, the Federal Government will take responsibility/ enter Mekelle and disarm armed entities and collect weaponry in and around the city that has wreaked havoc;
5. Within a few short days, the current organizational structure of the TPLF will be dissolved and an interim administration led by the Federal Government will be established.
As necessary, the interim administration will include representatives of Tigray's people. However, this will be done in a way that ensures the rule of law;
6. The Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) will be deployed on all national borders with neighboring countries to ensure their security and peace. The TPLF accepts the mandate of Ethiopia’s National Defense Forces to ensure law and order in any area of the Tigray region and agrees not to obstruct its implementation;
7. The interim administration, that is to be established, will facilitate conditions for the rapid delivery of social services in all areas of Tigray; it (the interim administration) will ensure the (delivery of services) functioning;
8. The TPLF will cease all communications with any outside/ foreign entity without the approval of the Federal Government. If there are individuals who commit this deed, they will be held accountable according to the laws of the country. END.

Was it worth sacrificing 500k poorly trained soldiers just for this? They could have easily achieved this deal before August 24th without losing the lives of hundred thousands of their people and the destruction of properties and livelihoods of Tigreans if they had brain cells. What a bunch of morons TPLF leaders are!
This is total surrender as some of you put it rightly. TPLF leaders only want to save their lives and nothing else and they got it at the cost of their people.

If the peace agreement in South Africa looks even 50% below, then the Tigrayan TDF must have been weakened so much that they found this acceptable rather than waving a white flag and surrendering.
Let's wait few hours to read the entire document, because I need to see something good for the Tigrayan TDF out of this after all millions have been displaced and half a million may have died. Or, the Tigrayans must have realized, albite late after all the destruction and loss of lives, fighting 120 million Ethiopia with a landlocked 6 million people may not go too far.
Let's hope that peace has finally come and the millions of Tigrayans will have respite and food relief that they deserve.
