The fall of Axum has generated little euphoria among Ethiopians. Two years ago, same incident garnered lots of Euphorea

The question is why is that the case?

Have your say please

I have ideas but I hate to prejudice

May be I will throw my two cents later

To be honest, the most promising and legitimate take over so far are Humera, Welqait, Raya Korem and Alamata because these are integral part of Amhara provinces and the people are Amhara ancestrally, they are reliable base. Whereas any other territory Shire, Axum, Adowa are part of Tigray province, their taken over for short time and TPLF is confident they will remain so, they only defend to protect Mekelle where they are now. Therefore, Axum could be one step closer to finally take over Mekelle, other than its military strategy there is nothing motivating about it. Hope the statute safely evacuated.

You can’t spin this horrible defeat in anyway

When your enemies are capturing hundreds of towns, villages and big cities such as Shire, Sheraro, Alamata, Korem, Mahoni, Zalambessa, Adi Arkay and so on on daily basis, so capturing another big city, such as Axum isn’t a big deal anymore. We kind of spoiled now; we want more and more, bigger and bigger

Wuro

I’m not diminishing the significance. I know you hgdef followers are as euphoric as the last time because you really take ownership of this war. But my topic is not about you.

I really see no big celebratory mood in Ethiopia like the last time. You have any idea why? Or maybe you don’t agree with the premise?

Whatever soothes your pain!

But if I have to have a wild guess, I would say Ethiopians have finally realized that your rag tag militia is just a Trojans horse for other powers.....and an assembly of thug mercenaries who have had the delusion of redrawing the horn map while high on Samantha cookies........As always, your people are grateful to anyone who brings the Samantha cookies as a gift to them.......

So spin it as you wish! The reality remains, in the grand scheme of things, your tiny enclave is irrelevant, and you're still an Agame- always glad to have someone throw some crumbs to your way!

That same “realization” was present two years ago so that can’t be a valid reason for the different reactions between then and now
