The root cause of the misunderstanding and conflict between TPLF and PP is power struggle and Abiy's attempt to resolve it based on zero sum games( 100% compliance to his directives and actions) and his love affair with Isaias. Even though Abiy's political future has been already expired , TPLF and PP could still negotiate and agree on how to co-exist and their is no need for more war. The only parties who need the war to continue( benefit from the war) are Isaias and his foot soldiers, the Amhara extremists. Both Isaias and the Amhara extremists desire to weaken both TPLF and the Ethiopian government toward realizing their strategic goals and to reduce their current survival threat from both TPLF and the Ethiopian government.
The USA does not want the war to continue and that is why they are applying pressure toward a negotiated peace. However, the USA wants to remove Isaias from power as he is the one breeding instability in the Horn Africa and currently more than ever, he stands against the interest of the USA and Western countries as he openly allies himself with Russia and China. The only option to remove Isaias is to reconcile TPLF and PP and establish a joint front against Isaias. Isaias military and economy are already weak and the strength and weakness of his army is well known to both Ethiopian government and the TPLF and surgically removing him from power, with the blessing of the USA ,is not going to be difficult. Let us not also forget also the opportunity has come to realize # Bring Back Our Access to Red Sea!
Ethiopia deserves to be awarded access to the Red Sea!
