Alexander Isak and Newcastle are a done deal.

The attacking star has passed the medical examination and Sportbladet can now reveal the details of the super contract with the PL club.

The 22-year-old signs a five-year contract and receives a salary of just over SEK 85 million (€8.5M) per season.

What went down like a transfer bomb on Wednesday in the football world is now a done deal. Representatives from Newcastle flew to Spain on Wednesday and the clubs quickly agreed, as reported by Spanish newspaper El Diaro Vasco. https://real-sociedad.diariovasco.com/i ... e=aGc2OHMy

But according to information to Sportbladet, there were still details in Isak's contract that needed to be negotiated.

During the evening, both parties also agreed on the personal contract: According to information to Sportbladet, the 22-year-old receives just over 85 million per season and the contract extends to 2027.

Alexander Isak flew to England on Thursday and completed the medical examination just as several British media https://www.newcastleworld.com/sport/fo ... es-3818705 have reported. It is not only Newcastle who have been interested in the attacking star this transfer window, earlier in the summer the player turned down Manchester United, according to Sportbladet's sources in the UK. Several big clubs, including Barcelona, have also been interested in the 22-year-old.

As recently as Sunday, Isak scored against Barcelona, which was his 33rd and final goal for Real Sociedad. The transfer fee of 70 million euros will be both a sales record for Real Sociedad and a signing record for Newcastle.

I'm glad it's done. It was a big decision for me to make but I'm really happy with it,

says Alex to Newcastle's website.
https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news ... nder-isak/

It's a great, historic club that I think everyone would want to play for - with great fans. They were a big part of me coming here and it was also the club's project, which I really believe in.

Coach Eddie Howe, likes Isak as a footballer.

He is technically good, with a mixture of qualities that will complement our team. He's also at a very good age to grow at this club,
said Howe.

According to British media, Alex can be ready to play as early as Sunday away against Wolverhampton at Molineux Stadium with kick-off at 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

We are very keen to get him involved as soon as possible, we are keeping our fingers crossed,

says coach Eddie Howe at Friday's press conference.

According to the local newspaper Chronicle, Alexander Isak must be registered before 12:00 local time on Friday in order to play Sunday's game.

It is not completely clear yet, we hope to solve it. He will probably have to train with us within the next two days to be able to play,

says Eddie Howe.

On Wednesday evening, an away game against Liverpool awaits at Anfield and the next home game at St. James Park is against Crystal Palace next Saturday.

The Times describes Alexander Isak as a "diamond in the rough" and can become a "vital weapon", not least in games where Newcastle have less of the ball.

The Daily Telegraph points out that Alexander Isak was the "unanimous choice" for Newcastle with Eddie Howe at the helm.

Alexander Isak has been through a lot for being such a young player and has his best years ahead of him. He has played in Germany, the Netherlands and Spain for big clubs, these are great experiences. The British game will suit him, technically he is very good. He will be a big player for us,

says Eddie Howe.

Newcastle have started the Premier League with a win against Nottingham and draws against Brighton and Manchester City.

Sadly Alex Isak isn’t playing against Liverpool today. They would be in big trouble.
