By Calling Welqait, Western Tigray, Agames Created for themselves a Predicament from which there is no Easy way out

Post by sesame » 22 Jul 2022, 08:29

The lands west of the Tekezze have never been known as Western Tigray. In fact, it would be a joke to call it so. You see, before 1991, the only Tigrayans in that region were destitute seasonal workers who were despised by the natives. The TPLF invented the name when they decided to annex the rich fertile lands. They wanted to create facts on the ground by settling there tens of thousands of Agames. They brain-washed their new generation to believe in the lie. The project might have worked had their stupidity not got on the way. When they started war and committed the massacre at Mai Kadra, they effectively signed their permanent eviction from the region. Most of the Agame settlers have now either fled to the Sudan or gone back to Western Tigray in Shire.

What do they do now other than froth at the mouth? The people of Welkait have reclaimed their heritage and will never allow back settler Agames into their lands. It will be the most bitter pill for Tigrayans to accept the reality that their border is the Tekezze river. But they will have to accept it. The more they clash with reality the deeper they sink into the hole they have dug for themselves. Tigray is rapidly descending into lawlessness and chaos. As their Tigray Defeated Force (TDF) disintegrates, we will to see armed gangs roaming across that cursed land. They will have a hard time stitching it back!

They also deliberately ceded some of Tigray's territories to the Afar, only to resettle tens of thousands of agame in the Afar region later by forcibly expelling the Afar people from their ancestral land, all in an effort to create an agame majority Afar region as part of their "greater tigray republic" agenda.

Four years ago, though, when the agame realized that every plot they hatched has been a failure, out of desperation they attacked the Afar people, resulting in a bad blood between the Afar and the Agame that can span generations. Creating self-made enemies on all sides was perhaps Karma's way of caging the agame in their own tiny, barren enclave until kingdom come.
