To be honest with you, I sometimes used to watch news about Ginbot 7 up until የጎንደር ህዝብ ሰልፍ የኦሮሞ ደም ደሜ ነው ; however, after the revolt intensified and Amhara youth fired up, I once watched very conflicting ESAT message that denounced the ወልድያ ወጣቶች handling of TPLF ring leaders criminals. I immediately wondered how would Ginbot 7 wanted the youth elsewhere in the country fight TPLF. So, that was the moment I noticed their organization not only lacked vision but tactics. But, I don't like to blame any single individual but the Organizations shifty stature. Some of these individuals paid heavy sacrifice (spent time in jail) so it difficult to blame other than the flaws in their strategies or loose nature of their organizations.

Thanks for sharing info. His personal abilities and what he does in his career is his businesses in my opinion, I care less about that. But what got me to lose respect for him is his ill planed political decision that failed multiple times. A politician can fail but there has to be good reason and has to acceptable by the majority. He is not a farseeing and systemic in his political planning. He makes decisions to gain short term political points even if his decision will have an opposite or a damaging effect in the long run. He has been hiting and running. Recall that he went to Eritrea after Andagachew was abducted, he had no reason to be going there other than to gain a short term points. His political organization was against the interest of Amara people and other Ethiopians that speak only a single language. But he still went to Eritrea to manipulate the Amara Armies in Eritrea. Both andargachew and birhanu never had their own soldiers they recruited. They, falsely, claimed they represent the Amara soldiers (Arbegnas) in Eritrea while G7 has NEVER helped or have been associated with Arbegnas prior to flying to Eritrea from the US. He just wants to manipulate.
So why was he going to Eritrea lying that the Arbegnoch were his soldiers while we all know the soldiers have been there for over 15 years before G7 was even formed. And he hates the soldiers because he hates Amara people as he showed his hate several times in the past. He thought he was not going to be busted but well even shabia didn't give him the power over the soldiers and the attention he was looking for. Both Andagachew and birhanu have said they were frustrated in Eritrea. Basically they didn't get what they wanted. I am very glad!! Shabia refused to work with them because shabia knows they have no asset or people they represent and they only wanted to manipulate Amara in the name of Ethiopia

Just very little information as to Addis Ababa University experience of Prof. Berhanu,

I think Berhanu was very good instructor in the subject matter and I had the opportunity first hand from many of his students. He was also head of Economic Association of Ethiopia. I am not sure, but there was even a rumor he was not taking salary for the government rather dedicated to be used for students coming from poor families at AAU. On the other hand, the information on Merara Gudina was a complete opposite, students alleged him for not so a good instructor. Gemechu Megerssa too was an illiterate teaching literate students to graduate illiterate. In my opinion, Berhane Nega should have stayed as an academician instead of involving in politics where the actors are goat herder TPLF and stone age Orommuma Kegna. His party as to me is a very confused party too - you can not imagine citizen based party to contest in a field designed for a beauty contest of tribes. He could have better legacy in academics than ending up in a political quagmire where citizens are now trading accusations and blessings.

You are correct. Dr. Birr is big time opportunist. He came from the US in 1991 to snatch the job of the unjustly fired AAU professors. That tells who really Dr Birr is. The Weyannies denied him a job. Like many of his generation he doesn’t like to work in Ethiopia with his profession. They all want to be leaders or minsters. They rather drive a Taxi in the US or England than do a real job in Ethiopia. A veterinarian, a medical doctor, a city planner, the economist etc they all want to be in politics or else they will go to the West to drive a cab.
I repeat Dr Birr has never worked a real job in his long life.
He is now serving a blood thirsty regime without any shame.

Depends on the university. If it’s a crappy community college like the one you attended, the paycheck may dip to $40k. If it’s a private college, a professor’s salary could hit the $180k cap.

Birhanu Nega is opportunist if not, what the hell is the "so-called economist" dewells so much on politics and ministry of Education? lets set the fact straigt. Birhanu is a teacher (lecturer). He holds a doctorial degree on Economics and worked in a university teaching and earning max $50k a year. We all know nurses make $100k or above in a year in the U.S so Birhanu's choice to enter politics is that he doesn't take himself a serious economist and he chose teaching what he learnt.

This means a physics teacher in university is not the same as a physics professional in NASA or some lucrative sector. A lot of people ask on why Abiy did not want to appoint Birhanu in the economic sector. the answer is simple. He was just a teacher (professor) and now a career politician at best.

What Birhanu needs now, he got it. A stable job that he feels it will earn him respect and the fun in Addis Abeba bars and dungeons. case closed his desires are met so why would he need to jeopardize it by preaching democracy, equality and fairness? Opportunists mindset don't work that way

When Berhanu left his position and went to Eritrea, both friend and foes looked into his salary package and found out his salary and benefits added up to 200K. This is a fact.
