But their calculation is simple: TPLF with 30 seats is minuscule and now that it has lost armed coup, its a spent force - so for Jawar the only path to power is to get as much votes as possible from Amhara nationalists (they’ve ABN in mind) to get to Arat Kilo.
So no more “Ahadawi” blablabla song of Seyoum Mesfin and TPLF. That (TPLF) was then and this (Amhara) is now. ANDM and OPDO seem to consolidate their base: ANDM by sweeping clean off Fanno which could have been a catalyst for pushback) and OPDO (basically drying up Jawar’s base by giving its members free ride to exercise unbridled and often corrupt power so Jawar would not get any ear from the mid and low level OPDO who start/stop revolution).
Other than this dynamics, regurgitating fantasy-filled news recycling is not more than a pastime for those who have not much to do.
But ER would still serve Abiy/OPDO by doing the dirty job of dividing and fragmenting societies so they would give him a break to do his job as they can’t make a unified front against his/PP’s power.
To make a difference and to quench you thirst to see Abiy gone, talk/educate about human rights, rule of law, non-ethnicization of politics, land policy (land to the tiller), market free from OPDO/TPLF/ANDM interference, corruption, equitable distribution of national wealth based on the common good… Be a force for good than always bickering about identity politics and “holier than thou” BS. Every post you do to spread hate, Abiy is adding an extra week in power. Tradition does hard, we know and it’s hard to pivot to being a force for good. But you owe it to those who you think should have a better life.
I know we are all hypocrites hiding behind nicknames. And I am
% sure we practice “Do as I say, not as I do!” We are all good-natured people talking good and lofty prescriptions drinking coffee with friends in real life, while we spew hatred on ER. I say this out of love and out of using your precious time to do good. Would we have been in this position if TPLF was seeking the “best and the brightest” when they schemed to pick the “lame and the deficient” when selecting from its POWs to make up OPDO and ANDM? What you sow shall you reap.
Try to educate others with your level best than doing a tyrant’s job of division, hatred, and seeking conflict which is doing the opposite of your purposes.
