Zelensky says he is ready to accept the neutrality of Ukraine and even to discuss about the independent status of the Russian speaking separatist regions. It looks like he is heading to a complete capitulation.

From observation not necessarily to be either side, the West has always been pragmatic and the best strategist because they are more realistic in what they want. They would not act otherwise. Most non Western nations beat around the bushes, sometimes even act winner only to find out that they are crushed by the West. Like any nations, their concern is being number one and because of also race. They have to be ruthless if they have to be number one and they have demonstrated it for over 300 years. They have never slept and they continue to build, to lead for themselves. I believe they will win the war because they have succeeded bringing the war near another superpower, Russia. If this was back in the 60s with Soviet Union, yes they would be insecure but they have tested and known for sure they will win. They are realistic in what they actually do on the ground and of course they would never say publicly or diplomatically their plan and they are correct to do that from their point of view or even from point of view of any other nation that wants to protect its national interest. In public they say something trivial for the sake of diplomacy but never the truth. Russia could have been aggressive towards Ukraine 2014 when it was taken over by groups with Western interest, because as it was expected, Ukraine turned out to be a monster and a concern for Russia. The inactivity to control Ukraine then in 1914 signals for the West weakness. Will China interfere to be on the side of Russia? Doubtful because Chinese economy grew because of Western corporations so they have vested interest. China's relation with Russia is more diplomacy and to some extent, economy that benefits China rather than Russia.

If optic is of any substance, then this one should be one.

It may also be mentioned here that the SPD, Mr. Shroerder's Party, of Germany was persecuted by the NAZIS of Germany and the current chancellor, also from the same party, has shown a visible reluctance with respect to the push for more and more harsh sanctions against Russia by many of the western actors, including the current president of the EU Commission, who is from the other major party in Germany, which I am not trying to associate (or imply by any means) with the Nazis of Germany.

Actually I thought Mrs. Merkel, another personality deemed also closer to Putin by many, could have been also named a peace envoy to Moscow. She replaced Shroeder in her chancellery, and now he is there before her

The clown who ignored reality seems to come to terms with reality now.
