If you want the idea of federation from the others the roadmap is not climbing on the high mountains and blindly and openly declaring your spontaneous one sided wishful thinking but making your country and your people strong, united, wealthy, healthy and happy more than ever so as to become a role model for everyone with whom it might be attractive to form willful voluntary nice federation which may make both much more viable in the form 1+1 = 3 or =4 rather than being only = 2.

You may have some few points about equality and mutual respect but over all again you just went back to your old fashioned routine hateful self congratulating propaganda so as to insult and degrade some 110 million Ethiopians indiscriminately as a whole and in that way try straighten and refresh your deep rooted ill feelings caused by the tplf.

Voluntary federation based on equality and justice for all is a welcome behavior but what some of these petty narcissist provocateurs are saying and barking can't be of any cause for alarm because their motive is not really for the federation as such but for the purpose of blocking negotiated voluntary federation for fear of not having the political credits for it, especially, some of the one dimensional Wajo politicians who even during President Mengistu's rule said that Eritrea can be sold and resold if there are profits in that.

That was when president Mengistu was high up on the podium making heated public speech about Eritrean independence, saying, " our country Eritrea can not be sold or exchanged for anything on earth."

The news that Ethiopia has upgraded its consular in Somaliland to ambassador was purely a fake news circulated by websites run within the mindless enclave, aka Somaliland.

FYI, there are few prerequisites to take place before a country appoints an ambassador to a foreign entity, including recognising such entity as a country on its own and setting up an embassy in the host's country. Ethiopia has not recognised Somaliland as a country; neither has it an embassy in Somaliland. Check it out yourself, you won't find anything that'll tell you that Ethiopia has an embassy in Somaliland, or it has recognised Somaliland as an independent country. Needless to add that Ethiopian government hasn't said to date that it has appointed an ambassador to Somaliland.

Try to google 'Ethiopian embassy in Somaliland' yourself and see if you can get other than "Consulate of Ethiopia in Hargeisa."

If Ethiopia agrees to federate with Somaliland, will not Somaliland be a liability on Ethiopia , economically and politically?

--- Economically, the difference in economic level, degree of urbanization, mode of economy, etc.?
--- Politically, won't it anger the Somalia, first ( although this makes the Somali of Harar province happy); second, won't the West and other powers be unhappy because they want their base forever there?

--- Otherwise, the integration of countries is always brings more opportunities than curses, although it is always painful for extreme ethnocentrists. Economic prosperity and political influence is the function of size of a given country - the bigger the size the larger its influence and wealth. Smaller countries are like boats that easily looses direction in the face of the wave of global political and economic influence. However, the will of the people not the leader matters most, leaders can create the avenue to the opportunity.
