Since I got so many things wrong, I think it would be more helpful to use bullet points before I pivot and discuss the “predictions” that are very much debatable and could be manifested within days of this latest journal entry:
- I should have never told people what to do, my job as a journalist and an observer is to inform and not to compel people to take action. Though I believe my aim was righteous and was not inspired by any ulterior motives, in hindsight my actions caused undue confusion and potentially robbed people of their free will for they could have arrived at the same conclusion had I just relayed the news and trusted that my fellow humans could make decisions to protect their own lives without needing an authority to tell them how to do so
- I should have never predicted dates, doing so only caused people to doubt the alarming volcanic eruption taking place at La Palma Island and the concerning frequency of earthquakes centered around the Pacific Ocean’s Ring of Fire. Moreover, trying to guess the exact dates of a landslide at La Palma and the Ring of Fire’s detonation became more about ego than it was about journalism, my need to be proven right overruled my responsibility to our readers and the general public to provide timely information bereft of vanity and for that I am truly sorry—I will do better going forward
