General Abraha Kassa, director of the National Security have given new directions in memo forms to the army, security and diplomats. The overall direction can be translated as retreat-step-by-step. This includes -
-- Get ready to the suspension of Ethiopian Airlines flights to Asmara and the closure of the Eritrean airspace in few weeks.
-- Encourage Ethiopian armed forces officers to ask asylum to Eritrea. We will help them to expedite and resettle to any country of their choosing.
-- When the time comes, encourage Ethiopian armed forces officers, to flee to Eritrea with their mechanized armaments, tanks, artillery, fighter jets, heavy lifting Hercules and Antonov airplanes, drones etc ...
-- The Eritrean security officers deployed in Ethiopian towns should start assembling in Addis Abeba as the situation starts to deteriorate. Make sure to fly out when the Woyanies are within 50 kms from the outskirts of Addis but past Debre Berhan. (Do not repeat the mistakes of Kabul in Addis, added Yemane Monkey )
-- Convert all Ethiopian Birr in your hands to US dollar or Euro. Expect Ethiopian banks to be extremely busy with the public withdrawing money and converting the Birr to hard currency. I suspect the TDF is making contacts with key elements within the EDF and even PFDJ who are opposed to the war, including previous wars against all and every neighboring country.

New memo is circulating this morning to very selected Eritrean diplomats and cadres outside of Eritrea by the Eritrean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, most probably written by Yemane Gebreab, the chief presidential advisor. Details are so far tidbits and sketchy but it sounds a bit desperate:
The memo includes the words, "we should not repeat the debacle and confusion of Americans in Kabul in Addis. ... there is only limited time left.
As the situation in Ethiopia deteriorates, the Eritreans in diaspora need to be steadfast in media relations, diplomatic work, demonstrations and above all fundraising activities because the Eritrean armed forces depends on you ... Asmara - Addis flights are likely to suspend within few weeks .. get ready to book flights for unnecessary staff members throughout missions in Ethiopia. ... any other flights booked to Asmara thru Addis from any other nation by Ethiopian Airlines, after November is unlikely ... the airspace may be closed .... try to book thru UAE or other airlines ...
