The problem with Amhara elities have been not having their independent approach on how to safeguard the interest of Amharas. They have been always opting to side with the powerful one and enjoy their number two position at the cost of the interest of their people. Demeke Mokennen has been happy to follow and support Abiy even Amharas in Oromia have been killed and persucated for being Amhara. Same Demeke supported Abiy strategy of divide and rule by instigating the ugly war between Tigray and Amhara both the founders of Ethiopia. To my surprise NAMA also followed same and now they are part of the Abiy genocidal team instead of showing the Amhara people a new and independent way. Let us hope if Lidetu Ayalew, Engineer Yilkal or others could brake this dependency addiction and give the Amhara a leadership that deserves.
