Many believe that PM Abiy Ahmed Ali's ability to leverage a negotiated settlement is thinning by the day. Issaias is said to have given up on Abiy after the Chifra war, otherwise he would have supported the Ethiopian army by opening new fronts in the northern and western fronts against TDF. The question in Asmara is that after Kombolcha, how long will Abiy stay in Addis? Will the TDF attack Eritrea, first on the west in Humera, the center in Kisad Iqa near Adi Kuwala or in Senafe, or will it march straight to port Assab. Many think, marching to Assab will garner a lot of political support from the rest of Ethiopia, and replay the "Crimean war of Ethiopia" in the Horn of Africa again.
