Eritrea Graduated Journalists - What their parents are thinking today

Becoming a journalist in Eritrea is a death sentence

Eritrea is ranked 180th out of 180 countries in RSF's 2021 World Press Freedom Index. With at least 11 journalists being currently incarcerated it continues to be sub-Saharan Africa’s biggest jailer of journalists.

Journalists attacked in Eritrea since 1992

See the graph of journalist prisoners in Eritrea by year (from 1997 to 2020) on the below link https://cpj.org/africa/eritrea/

Eritrea has one TV, one Radio, one Newspaper (in 3 languages) but it is on the world's top 5 jailors of Journalists in the world! Who would have thought that achievement is possible? Imagine if Eritrea has 2 TV and 2 radio stations. That is really scary prospect!

China has 47 journalist prisoners in 1.4 billion population & Eritrea has 16 journalist prisoners 3.5 million population
