Al-Burhan in Ethiopia: We will reclaim our land through negotiations or other options

By Editorial Team- August 16, 20210

The head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said on Monday that the recovery of Al-Fashqa confirms Sudan’s ability to recover and protect its rights, stressing that his country will recover the rest of the land through negotiations or any other options.

Furthermore, the Sudan news agency quoted Al-Burhan as saying that “Sudan has long negotiated with the Ethiopian side over the region and has encountered intransigence and procrastination on the part of the Ethiopian side”.

He added: “The epic of the recovery of al-Fashqa was an affirmation of Sudan’s ability to recover and protect its rights, and that anyone who accuses the Sudanese army of proxy warfare must take in mouth al-Fashqa powder to make sure it is Sudanese land and will stay tale, and the rest of the land we will restore by negotiation or any other option. “

The Sudanese army recaptures Al-Fashqa
Interestingly, the Sudanese army imposed its control over most of Al-Fashqa’s lands, which had been seized by Ethiopian militias since 1994, freeing strategic mountains and stationing them, such as Jabal Abu Birds.

Interestingly, since last November the Sudanese army has been campaigning for the restitution of land that Ethiopian militias have used for agriculture for decades after expelling their owners from Sudanese peasants by force of arms.

These operations have led to considerable tension in relations between Sudan and Ethiopia, which rejects the movements of Sudanese forces at the borders and regards them as an attack on its citizens, while Khartoum says that Sudanese forces are redeploying within its borders as a guaranteed right.
