Eritrea's future leader???

Post by Eripoblikan » 08 Aug 2021, 16:07

General Sebhat Efrem, even during the struggle for independence, was known for his charming character and witty skills of negotiation. He has managed to outmaneuver opponents, yet without making so many enemies. For external players, like the US, he has come across as a person with a unifying influence, solid support base in the army and better communication counterpart. It is believed he has also voiced concern with Eritrean President’s handling of the recent peace process with Ethiopia.

All this seems to make the President more irrelevant. The president could not stand the idea, the General would be considered as a potential successor. On the most recent visit by a delegation from US, it is believed they inquired about the General’s attendance. Request was rejected by the President.

Something is brewing in Taba and Adi Halo

Eri,

I like Sibhat's personality. But, he is not the man. First, his time has passed. Second, he is an appeaser. You want someone like Petros Solomon or Drue if they are still is alive and well, or the vibrant Bitweded Abraha. But, Mesfin Hagos (Tough warrior) and Haile Menqorious (Harvard Graduate) are on the horizon too.

Bit(weded) is one of the best options. Hope he's still alive.

But Sebhat is the one who might have the best shot at deposing the mad man of Adi Halo because he's a shrewd strategist with wide appeal in the army.

Then after a short period of transition, the likes of Bit can take over after popular elections.

I'll throw Issu under the water and apply for clemency from the new government of national unity.
Maybe it can work because Bit is for reconciliation and forgiveness. If only Issu had listened to the voices of reason of Bit, Sherifo, Dru'e and Pete Solomon.
