America refused to help finance the GERD hoping (miscalculating) that Ethiopia would be too poor to build it with her own money. In other words, Egypt is America's puppet and America is Egypt's sugar daddy - same old colonial habit and stupidity. Egypt is not an Africa power. Egypt is Arab, not African.

Related to #1 , just as America gave birth to TPLF control of Ethiopia, it remained married to a national traitor universally hated TPLF to this day. As TPLF goes down so does US influence over Ethiopia. Americans have lost any and all moral or other influence in Ethiopia. US is now the most suspected, closely watched, least trusted force in the Horn of Africa.

Just like Carter, Biden's stupid Ivy League groupies have zero grasp of the essence of Ethiopia and now it is abundantly clear that Ethiopia's alignment with Russia (military, Technology) and China (economic, trade) is firmly established.
