Sad to see Ethiopian people suffering due to backwardness! The existing land policy has made farmers just to live in their comfort zone. Abiy has to change the land policy and allow farmers to be able to sell and buy land so that big private owned farms with mechanized irrigated farming. Farmers like Ato Wale can sell their land and work for the private farms that enables them to earn a better income. The new generation farmers family could get good education ad move to cities. A planned and progressive transition from subsistence farming to commercial farming is one key strategy that could help the cycle of drought and famine in Ethiopia.
