Tigray accepts a ceasefire in principle if there were ironclad guarantees of no further invasion

Post by temari » 04 Jul 2021, 10:12

"As long as we have a foolproof guarantee that the security of our people will not be compromised by a second round of invasions, we accept a ceasefire in principle," a statement signed by the "government of Tigray" said on Sunday.
Even though there are other preconditions attached, this should be taken positively and both the federal government and TPLF should now focus in saving millions of lives. That is becoming very urgent by the day.

what kind of stuppiid person you are?? Read thoroughly first before commenting.
There are 7 preconditions to be fulfilled.
one of them is they want independent investigation on crimes on Tigray and after isolating the culprit to send them to the ICC.
Are you there. mtherfkr, read!

I agree with Abaymado. It is a nonstarter. I have just looked one of the demand it says Ethiopia should accept the Tigray that existed before the conflict, meaning TPLF will control Humera, Welkayet, and Raya. There is zero chance of that happening.
The Ethiopian government and the Amharas seem to know this is coming, and prepared to it.

You guys are not understanding the diplomatic language. Anything "in principle" means I accept it but I need some face saving mechanism. The US seem to working behind the scene and the face saving mechanism was introduced few days ago as new law. The new law says if two states have a land dispute then the land will be placed under the federal security forces. I think Wolkait and Raya will soon be declared no more part of Tigray but a "disputed land" and be placed under the federal administration. Of course we know this will not change anything on the ground but I think that is how PM Abiy is trying to meet the demands of the US. And this could be the face saving mechanism for TPLF. TPLF knows that after the filling of the dam during the rainy season, all the mechanized brigades that crushed TPLF and are now stationed on the Ethio-Sudanese border could be sent to Tigray. That is why TPLF is demanding a guarantee of no second invasion.

The TPLF has been designated a terrorist organization and I cannot imagine any scenario, even if he wanted, for PM Abiy to have anything to do with the thugs. Ethiopia declared a unilateral ceasefire. Ethiopia did not offer them anything. It was the aid agencies who wanted a ceasefire so that they can distribute aid. So whether the TPLF accepts or not cannot have any effect on the Ethiopian government. In my view, Abiy should state loud and clear that the only way for the quarantine to end is if the TPLF disbands and hands over the criminals for whom arrest warrants have been issued. Anything less is capitulation.

And Temari, TPLF is not Tigray.

Have u not seen Abiys speeches!

He praised the Welkait And Raya Identity Committees that wanted to fix the border issue!

So stop playing blind knucklehead

Federal government will not seize any territory that is already is liberated by Amhara forces!

"Face saving mechanism"?
These preconditions are the type the victor would insist upon and dictate, not the loser who needs "face saving".

I think that you guy have lost a compass or overwhelmed by another issue you don't want to share.

They say somewhere about releasing "their constitutionally belonging them regional budget" or something similar I read somewhere and at the same time the presence of the Federal army is an "invasion" in their territory.

Which part of the constitution do the like and which part of it that they don't like?

How is somebody serious about what that body proclaims in the face of such self-contradictory demands at the same time?

Is Tigray a Region of the Federation or an Independent great Tigray in your view?
