Even though I am a strong supporter of media freedom, I think I can guess why they were arrested.
Just few days ago two of them were accusing the Army and the government of trying to "wipe out the people of Tigray from the face of the earth".
I was shocked to hear such statement and I expected they would also back their claims by evidence.
Because such extra ordinary claims need extra ordinary evidence and to my dismay, the didn't even bother to present any evidence let alone extra ordinary one. So the moment I saw their absurd accusation I knew they will soon be in trouble.
We all know they were very anti government media for years now while seating in Addis and that is fine but accusing the army and the government to "wipe out Tigreans" without providing solid evidence was beyond anything I have heard.
Hopefully they will present their evidence at the court or openly apologize for their absurd accusation.

Journalists Arrest Alert!
-------------------------
All journalists and other staff members of Awlo Media are arrested today morning by government security forces while they were on duty at their office in Addis Ababa. No one knows where they are taken to and it is unclear why they became a target. It is to be recalled that one of the media's journalists, Bekalu Alamrew, was also arrested back in November for three weeks.
Mr. Tewelde, a legal representative of Awlo Media Business is also arrested along with the Awlo Media journalists. The office of the media is locked and sealed by the government people.
